My yoga journey began after graduating college. Having completed a successful Division I collegiate soccer career, I found yoga as a way to foster community and build a team environment. I completed my 200 hour Registered Yoga Training through Yoga Alliance while in graduate school. The practice of yoga allows me to hold space for myself while balancing a full-time career in healthcare. I value yoga as a way to show up for yourself both physically and mentally, a value in which I have been sharing with students for two full years through teaching. I currently teach multiple fitness and yoga classes a week at local studios in Philadelphia, PA. I teach various styles of yoga classes ranging from yin, slow vinyasa, power vinyasa, and heated yoga. I create sophisticated sequences to ignite and awaken the entire body while focusing on breath work and mindful movement.
Additionally, I teach multiple strength based, high-intensity workout classes a week. Using props such as resistance bands and weights I program classes that target specific muscle groups throughout the entire body. A structure designed to challenge students to explore their own strength while focusing on preforming safe and effective movements.
I am currently in the process of Perinatal Yoga Training, an additional 85 hour course to offer safe options for movement for those throughout various stages of pregnancy!
Overall, I would describe my teaching style as powerful, high energy, and engaging. It is important to me to create a welcoming environment and sense of community through movement.
