Susan Shepherd

I began practicing yoga in 2008 while at a spa retreat with my family to celebrate my 50th birthday. I was the only person in the free class, and the instructor took me through these amazing stretches where at the end of the class I felt like a new and younger person.

When I returned home, I immediately started taking several yoga classes a week. Not only did my 70-year-old teacher inspire me, but I felt better both physically and emotionally.

In 2014, after my husband passed away suddenly, my best friend convinced me to register with her for the 200-hour yoga teaching certificate program. This 200-hour intensive program covered everything from postures, breathing techniques, anatomy and philosophy.

After teaching for two years at a gym and for residents of a local condominium building, I decided I wanted to learn more, so travelled to India in 2016 where I completed the 300-hour residential yoga teaching certificate program to qualify as a 500-hour RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher). Today, I have more than 1,000 hours of teaching time, and am a 500-hour E-RYT (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher)

I enjoy sharing my yoga practice with beginner and intermediate students. I offer Hatha and Vinyasa slow flow classes as I believe MOTION helps our EMOTIONS. I encourage students to go at their own pace, and offers lots of options so that students can make the postures their own.
