Renee Billish

My journey into health and fitness began at a young age, and it’s been a rewarding and transformative path. I’ve always had a passion for running and fitness, and at just 19 years old, I started teaching group fitness classes. This early experience ignited a love for both teaching and wellness that would shape my entire career.

I went on to study nutrition in college and became a registered dietitian, working in that field for three years. However, my desire to teach led me to pursue a teaching certificate in health education. In 2003, I began teaching health education at the high school level, where I’ve been ever since. Along the way, I also started coaching track and field, a role I held for 13 years. Throughout this time, I was also teaching a variety of group fitness classes like step aerobics, slide aerobics, aqua fitness, strength training, circuit training, and both low- and high-impact aerobics.

After 15 years of teaching and coaching, I decided to step back and focus on raising my two boys. But, I missed being involved in the fitness world. After a bout of depression and anxiety, I found my way to my first yoga class. I have been practicing yoga for 18 years and knew one day I would eventually become a yoga teacher. Seven years ago, I completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training, and I’ve been teaching yoga ever since.

Today, I’m fortunate to balance my full-time role as a health education teacher with my passion for teaching yoga. I love inspiring others to live healthier, more balanced lives through both my work in education and my yoga classes.
