Melissa Roselle Sheppard

I have been a student of yoga for over 25 years. As an instructor I am certified in multiple disciplines and I have no intention of stopping pursuing a lifetime of learning.

I take the time to cultivate a  welcoming space for personal transformation through mindful movement and meditation practices. Oh, and FUN. There has to be joy and laughter.

I place value on growing my community's wellness through class offerings and the time that I spend working with various organizations. I achieve this through offering sessions and mindful education to all demographics. I aim to ensure that everyone has financial access to wellness learning and practices.

In addition to offering various types of class styles, throughout the year you will find myself and my students devoting time and love to a  "Karma Class" experience. The funds raised in these offerings provide food support to those in need directly in our community. These are not big splashy events but rather subtle functions with large results with no spotlight on the effort.

My classes are a combination of traditional Yoga teaching laced with philosophy, while embracing western culture. A Yogic lifestyle is meant to carry on long after the time on the mat ends. The teaching needs to be practical. Embraceable. Obtainable.

My Dharma is to teach. In my daily life, I am an entrepreneur and business woman. Myself and my husband own a small engineering firm providing consultation in the field of Risk and Process Safety Management. I am also a REALTOR® and have been in the shelter business for 13 years.

No matter what pretty words I write here, my most important role is having fun and being a mom to my three teenagers along with a household of little furry and not so furry critters. I am passionate about the great outdoors and we actively pursue a family lifestyle of positive sustainability in all areas; mother earth, love, friendship, and personal growth.
