Laurie Sasser

Laurie Sasser teaches Prana Vinyasa Slow Flow Yoga as taught by Shiva Rea in addition to Kundalini, Breathwork, Soundbath, Yin, Restore, Chanting, Full Moon Ritual and Meditation. Laurie has completed over 1,000 hours of Teaching Training with Shiva Rea in Santorini, Greece, Venice Beach, Malibu, California. Laurie has been teaching yoga for over 20 years and lives in Seattle, Washington. She is the creator of Yoga In The Park at the Bellevue Downtown Park in Seattle, WA and Urban Ashram a Seattle-Based Retreat Company. 
 

CLASSES

Laurie's classes are like therapy! They feel like a warm embrace, a weighted blanket, a deep exhale in these energetically volatile times. When we access these deeper states of peace within our nervous system, we experience the opportunity for clarity and expansion.  We can look in the mirror and see exactly what needs to shift. We will experience slow flow vinyasa infused with energetic work within the chakras, the seasons, and the elements of our direct environment. Laurie's hope is that we learn the tools to allow gentle movement to nourish and calibrate our lives. 

In recent years, Laurie has created yoga classes that address her own experience with autoimmune disease. She helps clients that have autoimmune disorders such as Hashimotos, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Psoriatic Arthritis, Diabetes, Lupus, Muscular Sclerosis, among others. Achieving deep rest and peace in the nervous system is the first step to healing. Laurie aims to offer tools we can take back to our day to day lives. She leads clients to reclaim the body as a safe haven, as source of strength, a homecoming. 

RETREATS

The retreat space is such a special doorway. For many of us, the last time we slowed down and carved out time for ourselves was WAY TOO LONG ago! Life gets busy and there always seems to be a reason to put our health and our wellness on the back burner. We prioritize our to do list instead of our creative life, our creative pulse. The years go on this way. When we step out of this structure and into a retreat, we give our nervous systems the opportunity to return to stillness. This is the real gift. Over the course of 7 days, your body arrives back into itself and you start to move through the world differently. We make decisions from a place of soul alignment. We experience deep authenticity. This is the heart medicine.
