Shaylee MacDermid

Shaylee has trained extensively in many genres specializing in Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Hip Hop and Musical Theatre. Her talent has taken her across Canada, the United States and Europe as a dancer and choreographer.

Shaylee was an assistant choreographer to Melissa Williams on the hit television show, “So You Think You Can Dance Canada” and assistant choreographer to Breanna English for the 2022 BC Lions Uproar Dance Team. She has choreographed for local country artist, Danielle Ryan, on various projects (“Take Me Back”, “Ain’t Christmas Without You” and “My Christmas Song”), and she has choreographed internationally for SGA Productions and Merlin Entertainment (“LEGO Friends” for LEGOLAND Windsor Resort).

Shaylee has worked with world-renowned choreographer/director, Kenny Ortega, as a dancer on the Disney channel movie “Descendants” and was a company member of both “House of Jazz” and “Uncorked Theatre” performing in the 5-star immersive theatre show, “One Nine Two Seven” in London, England. She has performed with such artists as Nickelback, Imagine Dragons, Dallas Smith, Chris Buck, Victoria Dueld, Ash Koley and Wes Mack.

Some of her dance credits include BC Country Music Awards, CFL’s 99th and 102nd Grey Cup Halftime Show, 2014 Special Olympics Canada Summer Games Opening Ceremonies, Vancouver 2010 Olympics Closing Ceremonies, BC Lions, and live stage shows at the Pacific National Exhibition (Boogie Fever, 80’s Forever, Let’s Go Crazy, KABOOM!, and PopCity).

In addition to teaching dance, Shaylee is a former Zumba Instructor and currently teaches Dance Fit Cardio and is a certified RYS 200hr Yoga Instructor
