I am almost 28 years old now. I spent a great deal of my late teens and early twenties feeling overwhelmed, depressed, and anxious. This is what first brought me to a yoga mat in 2018. I spent the first few months and years after stepping on the mat falling in love with the practice. I used my yoga practice to learn how to slow down and move through my days with more presence and care. The more I practiced, the more I surrounded myself with like-minded people, the better I started to feel. I truly have a passion for what yoga can bring to people's lives and with every class I teach, I try to remind students how important it is to simply show up for yourself. Even if you come to class and just lay on the mat for 60 minutes, you are still practicing. You are learning to listen to the body, to move with intention and breath, and to let go of all of the outside noise. We spend so much of our day disconnected from ourselves, as we work, digest social media, answer constant texts/emails, and take care of everyone else. I feel it is so important to reconnect to the physical body through breathwork and movement. A consistent yoga practice was the catalyst that initiated this shift in me.

When I am not teaching yoga, you can find me hanging out with my Newfoundland dog, Doug. He is 2 years old and truly the goofiest and sweetest guy I could have ever asked for. I am from Northern NY- the winters here are long, but the summers are gorgeous. Hot Vinyasa style yoga helps me (and many others) to survive the long, cold winter months. However, during the summer, you can find most of the population out on the St. Lawrence River. I hope to utilize the Fit Bodies program to be able to escape periodically during the winter months, all while sharing a practice with others that I am truly passionate about.
