- Kit Tozier
My name is Katrina (Kit) Tozier and I've been involved in fitness since I was a child. I've always been active whether it was working out or playing in competitive and recreational sports. In elementary and middle school, I played basketball, t-ball/fast pitch and took tumbling/gymnastics at the local YMCA. Once I reached high school, I joined the cheerleading squad and started running track in the basketball offseason. It was a difficult transition once I moved away for college, and it took a few years for me to figure out how to "work out" again since I was no longer involved in group sports. It was then that I found a Groupon for a women's only bootcamp in my area. I fell in love immediately with the program and after 90 days, I started studying to become a personal trainer. In October of that year, I launched my own boot camp which I went on to teach for a little over 6 years, adding two more class time options and a 2nd location. At the end of 2019, the umbrella company I ran my boot camp under unexpectedly shut down. Covid hit soon after and I decided it was a sign to take a break from the training world. I later joined another local gym and after a couple years, was asked if I would become a trainer. I hit the books again, this time getting my group fitness certification, and began training again at the gym I had helped open a few years prior. It's such a fulfilling role to see your clients get stronger and healthier but also develop an overall confidence they may not have had before. I am a firm believer in exercise and staying healthy but also meeting clients where they are in that journey. Not everyone needs to be an Olympic athlete but a simple walking club, HIIT routine or boot camp does the body good.
