Shelley is an adventurous mother of two who keeps herself and her girls busy with hiking, snowboarding, camping, surfing, and of course yoga. Her journey to becoming a yoga teacher began when she was a busy corporate account manager in telecom many moons ago. Yoga became her outlet. A place to reconnect to herself, and find balance amidst the many demands her lifestyle held on her time. With many hours spent on the mat weekly, her love of yoga grew and Shelley became quite curious about what the teachers were talking about beyond the simple shapes of postures and breathwork. It was that curiosity that inspired her to take her first teacher training here in Calgary. With zero aspirations of becoming a yoga teacher, the intention behind this step was simply to deepen her own understanding of yoga and how this ancient practice created such profound benefits in her own life. Armed with a deeper understanding how yoga applies to modern day life, Shelley developed a passion for sharing yoga and started teaching weekly classes. Since her initial vinyasa training, Shelley has studied Critical Alignment Therapy, Nidra (yogic sleep), Pre/postnatal, meditation and Pranayama (breathwork) along with enjoying multiple workshops and retreats to elevate her understanding of this beautiful practice and it’s endless benefits for herself and her other yogis.
