Ashish Mehta

Ashish is a passionate power yoga instructor who believes that yoga is as much about flexibility as it is about strength and endurance. His classes blend athletic movement with intentional breath, designed to challenge the body while calming the mind. He’s known for weaving personal stories, yoga philosophies, and real-world reflections into his teaching, creating a grounded and motivating space for students to explore their edge.

Ashish brings an inclusive, no-judgment approach to the mat—infusing each class with themes like growth, gratitude, resilience, and self-compassion. With a background in the corporate world and decades of personal yoga practice, Ashish knows firsthand how transformative this practice can be both physically and mentally. He completed his teacher training through GoYoga and continues to deepen his study of the yamas, niyamas, and sutras, integrating those teachings into modern, dynamic flows.

Ashish’s lifelong passion for movement and competition began in India, where he was a professional jockey racing thoroughbred horses for seven years. He went on to represent India in international equestrian show jumping events, came to the US for his undergraduate degree on a horse riding scholarship where he represented Denison University and later went on to play polo for the Columbus Polo Team. After his equestrian career, Ashish discovered racquetball—competing in state tournaments and representing India at the 2012 Racquetball World Championships in the Dominican Republic. This rare achievement of representing his country in two different sports speaks to his dedication, discipline, and love for physical expression.

Now an American citizen, Ashish lives in Dublin, Ohio with his wife and two daughters. Off the mat, you’ll find him traveling, golfing, pickle balling, or cheering from the sidelines at his daughters' lacrosse games.
