Makinzie first discovered yoga in college at her local climbing gym, drawn to how it complemented her love of movement and time outdoors. Over the years, yoga became more than just a way to move - it became a grounding practice and reliable way to reset, recharge, and feel balanced both physically and mentally.
With a B.S. in Child Development from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, a minor in Psychology, and a concentration in Outdoor Recreation Management, she’s always been passionate about how people grow, learn, and connect through hands-on experiences - something that continues to shape her approach to teaching yoga today.
She completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training with The Elevate Company in March 2025. Her classes are both welcoming and challenging with a focus on helping students feel strong, grounded, and capable - no matter their background or experience level.
In addition to teaching yoga, Makinzie is a licensed real estate professional and mom to an adventurous (almost) two-year-old daughter. When she's not on the mat or helping clients find their next home, you’ll likely find her hiking, rock climbing, skiing, or spending time with her husband and family.
