My name is Emma, I’m a 25-year-old Pilates instructor based in Montréal, Quebec — born, raised, and still proudly rooted in this vibrant city. While I work a 9-to-5 job during the day, my true passion lights up in the studio. I currently teach four Pilates classes a week across two studios, and it has quickly become one of the most fulfilling parts of my life.
I’ve always had a deep connection to movement. Growing up, I was constantly active — especially as a soccer player throughout high school — and that foundation of discipline and energy naturally carried into my adult life. As I transitioned into my university years, staying active became more than just a routine; it became a grounding, joyful part of my lifestyle. Then, in the winter of 2022, I discovered Pilates — and everything clicked into place.
I still remember my first class. There was something about Pilates that felt completely fresh and intuitive, yet challenging in exactly the right way. Thanks to a phenomenal instructor — who later became my mentor — I was able to build a solid practice quickly. What started as an exciting way to stay fit soon became a near-daily habit. It didn’t take long before I realized I wanted to deepen my commitment to the discipline and share it with others.
In the winter of 2023, I enrolled in a Classical STOTT Pilates instructor training program. Those five intensive weeks were transformative. Learning the history and fundamentals of Pilates, refining my understanding of proper form, and gaining confidence in teaching gave me a renewed appreciation for what the method offers — not only as a fitness practice, but as a way of tuning in to the body’s innate intelligence and strength. I continue to carry the knowledge I gained during training into every class I teach today.
Shortly after completing my certification, my mentor connected me with Gym St-Henri, where I taught my first-ever class as a substitute instructor. That one class turned into something more: they offered me a permanent time slot right away. It felt like everything was aligning perfectly — and it confirmed what I already knew in my heart: this is what I’m meant to be doing.
Since January 2024, I’ve been consistently teaching Pilates, and it continues to be the highlight of my week. I love encouraging people to connect with their bodies, get stronger, and feel good through movement that both challenges and empowers them. For me, the most rewarding part of teaching is seeing people leave class feeling a little taller, more grounded, and proud of what they just accomplished.
My teaching style is upbeat, dynamic, and a little playful. I love mixing in fast-paced sequences to get the heart rate up, while always taking time to slow things down and focus on form — because I believe that’s where real progress and injury prevention happen. I’m known for bringing a lot of energy to the room (and for cracking a few jokes to keep things light when the core burn starts to kick in). I don’t believe in taking myself too seriously, but I take the experience I give my clients very seriously — I want people to leave my class feeling challenged, supported, and energized.
Outside of the studio, my second passion is travel. I’ve dreamed of working at a resort since I was a child, and the opportunity to combine my love of movement with my love of new places and people is nothing short of a dream come true. I thrive in social, lively environments, and I love connecting with others — whether it's through a shared laugh, a great class, or a beautiful sunrise over the ocean.
I believe my positive attitude, vibrant energy, and genuine passion for Pilates would make me a fantastic fit for a resort environment. I know how powerful it is to start your day with movement, and how special it can be to take a class that not only strengthens the body but lifts the spirit — especially while on vacation. I’d be thrilled to bring that kind of experience to guests and help make their stay even more memorable.
