- Leigh Borge
My name is Leigh Borge, wife to Mike and mom to three daughters. I am a former classroom teacher turned stay-at-home-mom, turned Yoga Instructor. My journey to yoga began after a move when I was looking for a way to build community, get in some physical movement, and included child care. I was pointed to Revival Yoga Wellness Center in my new area; looked up the class schedule and found one was beginning in 45 minutes- I quickly packed my bag and my infant and never turned back! I quickly fell in love with the practice, and as a favor to a newly befriended instructor, attended a teacher training info session. Though my plan was never to teach, I decided to sell stocks to pay for training to try and understand why I loved the practice so much. Through the program and great mentorship, I completed my 200Hr on a Friday, graduated on Saturday, and began my teaching career at a Yoga Festival on Sunday and have been teaching ever since. My passion for yoga quickly pointed me in the direction of knowing that some day, I wanted to go beyond group classes, and help others learn about the benefits and magic of a the practice through facilitating trainings. Through my time at YogaSix, I have been able to achieve that goal. I also have a passion for trauma informed yoga, and have since obtained a certificate in Yoga Therapy (Level 1) where I would like to continue to grow my practice and teaching to help others understand how the practices of yoga are far more than movement on a mat. Every class I teach, my philosophy is breathe, build, belong. I hope that I can guide students to slow down, take a breath and be present to what is; to build strength not only physically, but mentally, emotionally and spiritually; and to know that they belong exactly as they are.
Outside of yoga, I am an avid reader, a creative who loves to make home feel warm and cozy, being in community and having fun with my family!
