Dr. Gail G. Marrella has committed her professional life to the development, creation, and management of health/fitness programs for clients and organizations throughout the country.  A sought after speaker and wellness coach, Gail exemplifies the passion and dedication that brings excellence to the health and fitness profession.  She is an expert in the realm of empowerment, helping others to raise their self-esteem, reduce stress, manage their weight, quit smoking, improve their fitness levels, and even embark on first time ever personalized fitness programs.  She proudly notes that her client base exhibits a strong exercise adherence success rate.

 

Dr. Marrella received her doctorate degree in Health Professions Education from Simmons University. In addition, she also holds a Masters of Education degree in Health Promotion, and currently maintains her certifications in personal training and group fitness instruction through the American Council on Exercise.  Gail stays actively involved in industry issues through her membership in IDEA, and through her research in strength training.  Additionally, she is a college professor and has been teaching Health & Wellness, Epidemiology, Drug and Alcohol Education, and a Senior Seminar for over 13 years. 

 

 

As the former IDEA Massachusetts State Representative, Gail established a reputation as a key player in the fitness industry among her professional peers, and networked with the “best and the brightest” throughout the country at IDEA conferences, conventions and special events. As a member of  IDEA: The International Association of Fitness Professionals; participant in over 25 conferences;  her dedicated efforts make her a key presenter for fund raising events such as the “Be Fit to Breathe” halftime aerobics show at the New England Patriots and the Boston Celtics for the American Lung Association, which resulted in her award for raising over $100,000 for the cause.

 

She enjoys dance, music, strength training, healthy cooking, and photography. Gail is married and is the mother of college-age twins.
