Anne Marie Choup

Anne Marie Choup started her yoga journey in 1996 with the classic ‘yoga: mind and body” video featuring Ali McGraw in an Erich Schiffman class.  Seeing how amazing the video instruction was, she started a regular practice in community at Tracy Bogart’s Triangle Yoga Studio in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.  This set the stage for a couple of decades of practice both at home and in community, from North Carolina to California to Alabama.

In 2020, Anne Marie earned her certification (YTT 200 hours) and began teaching with Rocket Yoga at Rocket Republic in Madison Alabama.  She also taught some classes for the Alabama chapter of the Sierra Club on zoom while folks were still staying home and social distancing.  In July of 2022 the Rocket Yoga team moved to Mad Malts in Huntsville Alabama.

In addition to teaching yoga, Anne Marie maintains a home practice and enjoys classes at her local gym.  Anne Marie is a nature-lover who enjoys hiking, camping, backpacking, and of course, practicing yoga outside!  She has also served as a certified hike leader for the Sierra Club.
