I’ve been active all my life, relying on persistence, raw will, and technique to overcome physical limitations in athletics. As an undersized athlete, I went up against competitors who were often more than twice my body weight, but I never let that stop me from pushing myself. Playing as a 165-pound defensive tackle, I routinely challenged 300-pound offensive linemen, yet I still achieved 1st Team All-State honors in Oregon. My efforts helped my football team compete in the state championship twice, and we captured the title once.
In the last two years, I’ve taken my passion for athletic competition to the pickleball court. I compete monthly in organized round robins, orchestrate large-format competitions, offer ongoing coaching, and work to train and encourage others—cultivating both skill and love for the game. Recently, I’ve focused on teaching the younger generation, sharing my experience and guiding them to embrace pickleball as both a sport and community. Throughout everything, my story is proof that determination and craft can level every playing field.
