With over two decades of experience on the mat, Taarna brings a wealth of personal insight to her teaching. Since first discovering yoga at JMU in 2003, she has viewed the practice as a vital resource for mental health, specifically in managing anxiety and supporting the journey through trauma.
As a teacher, Taarna prioritizes the student’s internal experience over perfect physical alignment. Her teaching style emphasizes the sensation within a posture, encouraging students to listen to their bodies and move in a way that feels safe and authentic. While she focuses on supporting those with mental health needs and past trauma, her classes are open to anyone looking to find a deeper, more mindful connection between mind and body.
