Jin Choi

BIOGRAPHY OF JIN CHOI

Jin Choi is a PPR certified coach, currently teaching Pickleball at the Michigan Athletic Club (MAC) in East Lansing, Michigan.  He is a popular and positive instructor there with high demand for his classes, often resulting in waiting lists to get in.

Jin has been a passionate Pickleball enthusiast since 2017 when his retired uncle first introduced him to the sport.  With his tennis and ping-pong background, Jin found his passion in pickleball and has the insight to help others with no experience or experience in other sports find enjoyment, exercise, social networks and confidence in the pickleball world.

The philosophy and teaching style of a coach is important, especially to the beginner.  Jin  focuses first on getting new students to enjoy the activity and have fun while blending technical skills with positive social interaction creating life-changing experiences for his students.  

Jin has played pickleball with enthusiasts of all ages and levels from beginners to professional level players (above 4.5) and from children to seniors.  He has participated in numerous pickleball tournaments both as a competitor and as a facilitator.   He is an authorized product advocate for Selkirk pickleball paddle company and Alter Ego Running apparel company.

Jin has coached for over 2 years at the Michigan Athletic Club, and served as Pickleball Pro at Swept Away Resort, Jamaica in May 2025 and Rainbow Cabins in Cedarville, MI for the summer seasons from 2020-2025.   He is a member of the Les Cheneaux Island Pickleball Club (LCI Pickleball Club) in Northern Michigan and the Michigan Athletic Club in East Lansing, MI.
