Chantal teaches Zumba, Dancefit, and Drums Alive with boundless enthusiasm. She first tried a Zumba class in 2017, with zero experience—at that time, she freely admits she “couldn’t keep up with anyone” and was that participant grinning from ear to ear while just trying to follow along. Still, she instantly fell for the classes, the choreographies, and especially the laughter and joy shared as a group. When group classes were often cancelled during the pandemic, she decided to become an instructor herself.
Since then, Chantal has taught both regular classes and frequently fills in as a popular substitute for various groups in her region, always adjusting her choreographies to the group’s level and preferences. Her energetic lessons have become favorites among participants. Her classes focus on moving together and sharing joy as a group, so every lesson feels like a party. Chantal is the go-to substitute for many groups in her area.
Chantal grew up in Heiloo, a small village in the northwest of the Netherlands. Fun fact: she worked for four years as a military physical therapist in the Royal Dutch Army, reaching the rank of captain. Despite officially being a few inches too short to qualify, she was still chosen as the preferred candidate out of all applicants.
In her spare time, Chantal loves preparing and teaching sport classes, meeting new people and doing fun, creative activities together. She also enjoys game afternoons, trying new sports (last vacation she picked up the basics of kitesurfing), reading, and of course, traveling.
