I have degrees in Kinesiology and Education (Western University) and have many years of experience teaching mind-body movement classes, including pilates, barre and yoga.
Two years ago I made the move from teaching mind-body classes outside of my fulltime job as a secondary school teacher (Physical Education, Health and Spanish) to doing so fulltime. I left my fulltime career and opened my own studio in order to do what I love, and I am so glad that I did! I work mostly with individual clients. I also rent a large space where I run several pilates classes each week.
I have been able to apply my experiences both as a mind-body instructor and a secondary school teacher to enhance my instruction. I believe that students leave my classes feeling challenged enough, but not too much! Clients tell me that they appreciate my enthusiasm and my ability to adapt my classes based on the needs of the people that I'm teaching.
I also have experience teaching Spanish, and speak it fluently. I am comfortable teaching classes in Spanish as well, if applicable.
Now that I have my studio up and running, I feel ready to take some time away. I have always wanted to teach abroad, and a colleague told me about this organization. I hope to be able to bring my enthusiasm and positivity to teach for people who want to move, stay well, and feel good as part of their holiday experience.
