I am a registered nurse at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in Toronto ON, and have been employed for over 20 years. I have always been deeply passionate about wellness and fitness, continually challenging myself both physically and mentally.
I am an accomplished endurance runner, and have completed six marathons, including qualifying for and running the prestigious Boston Marathon in 2010. I completed the race in an impressive 3 hours and 31 minutes—an achievement that I consider one of my proudest athletic milestones.
Following my marathon running years, I discovered a new passion for indoor cycling. After beginning classes, I quickly became hooked on the high energy and challenging workouts. In 2014, I earned my spinning instructor certification through Schwinn and soon began teaching at the boutique Toronto spin studio CYKL. At my peak, I was leading up to five spin classes per week while also teaching TRX classes after becoming a certified TRX instructor, offering two to three sessions weekly at the same studio.
When the studio eventually closed, the timing coincided with an exciting new chapter in my life—I was expecting my first child and chose to focus on my growing family. Soon after, the global pandemic and the arrival of my second child shifted my priorities further, placing my teaching career on pause for a period while I embraced motherhood.
I have a deep love for travel and embracing new experiences. One of my most memorable adventures was traveling to Bali for a surf and yoga retreat. Surrounded by the island’s natural beauty and warm, welcoming culture, I had the unforgettable experience of learning to surf in one of the world’s most stunning destinations—an adventure I consider to be one of the highlights of my life.
When a new wellness studio opened at the Hospital for Sick Children in 2024, I eagerly embraced the opportunity to return to teaching. That same year, I earned my group fitness instructor certification through canfitpro.
I now teach spin classes for staff at SickKids, where I find it incredibly rewarding to support the health and well-being of the dedicated employees who help make the hospital such an exceptional place. Through my classes, I am proud to create a positive and energizing outlet that encourages movement, stress relief, and community among the hardworking employees.
