I am a Second Grade Teacher full time and have enjoyed teaching Group Fitness classes since 1997. I currently teach the following MOSSA programs (formally Body Training Systems):Group Blast (Step), Group Power and Group Core. I also teach ZUMBA, ZUMBA Kids, and AQUA ZUMBA (I hold licencses for each program). My goal is to get more people (including children) moving and interested in fitness. I have developed a list of criteria that I strive to practice: 1.Take the time to get to know your participants. Prior to teaching all classes, say hello, introduce yourself and learn the names of your participants. 2. Provide modifications and options. 3.Timing and cuing as well as safe and fun choreography will help create a positive experience for each participant and keep them coming back for more. 4.Reflect. Ask yourself what went well and what you could do better and welcome constructive criticism from the participants and your peers. 

In addition, I am the Wellness Coordinator at my elementary school. For the past two years, I have organized several wellness opportunities such as group fitness classes, personal training, wellness fairs and nutrition counseling. I really enjoy sharing my love for group fitness and have led several ZUMBA classes for my colleagues as well as ZUMBA Kids classes for the students attending the After School Program. One of the favorite parts of my day is when we break out and dance in our Second Grade classroom whenever we feel the need to MOVE! We often invite anyone passing by in the hallway to join us.
