I love working with people and helping them feel good about himself/herself. I obtained my Masters of Science in Exercise Physiology/cardiac Rehabilitation in 1992. During my time as a graduate assistant I implemented a Water Aerobics program at Marshall University. I also performed stress test on healthy individuals as well as high risk clients and designed an exercise program that was individualized to their needs. I taught group exercise sessions as well. I also started a diabetic exercise program working with Type 1 and Type 2 patients.
After I graduated I worked at a large medical center and worke in cardiac Rehab and I also had a part time job working at a local YMCA teaching water aerobics, personal training, and a step class.
I then got married and my husband and I relocated to North Carolina in which I worked at the hospital in Cardiac rehab, wellness, pulomonary rehab and I again implemented a water aerobics program for healthy and special populations. I wore many different hats at this job and worke with high risk patients, healthy population, and post surgery patients. I communicated directly with physicians and monitored patients ekg's, blood pressure and etc for exercise. i had a great time with teaching the wellness classes and did education as well as weight training and setting them up on programs. I've loved it all.
So I worked at that hospital and wellness center for about 8 years and then I had my second child and quit working for about 3 years and then I had my 3rd child who is now 6. I started back teaching water aerobics and doing some personal training and have worked at the spa for about 4 years.
I am very people oriented and love to educate and help improve people's lifestyle. when I teach I want my people to have a good workout but I also want them to have fun. I am their biggest cheerleader and drill sargent at the same time but they all seem to love it. I have great control over my classes and seem to be greatly respected by my clients as well as my peers. Anyone that takes my class know that they I mean business and want them to get the most out of their workout and feel good about themselves but I also want them to want them to come back. My clients love me and I love them, (well most of them) and I know I would be an asset to your organization. I really appreciate your time. I hope I sent a picture, I will be happy to send another one, I guess I am usually the one taking them so i dont have many of myself. I am the person in the middle with the white shirt.
