As a child I was asthmatic and obese. When I was 18 and a college freshman I decided I was tired of living life with obesity. I became involved in exercise slowly, setting small goals as I went. I started with running a mile without stopping, which then went to two. Next was a 5K, then a 10K, and finally I worked up to running marathons. Changing my life was a personal decision and it was the best thing I've ever done for myself. I became involved in helping others better themselves and their lives in 2006 when I became certified as a spinning and pilates instructor. I have been teaching 4-7 classes a week for the University of South Florida Campus Recreation in hopes that I can help another freshman make the same choice I did.
