I started to get really into fitness when I was about twenty years old. Prior to that age I was always involved with dancing, but that year in particular I was diagnosed with severe migraine headaches and was severely overweight. Feeling uncomfortable with myself, I decided to go to a nutritionist and I dropped weight instantly and my headaches weren’t as frequent. I still needed to exercise to go along with my new health eating habits, so I decided to try Pilates since I heard it was designed originally for dancers. I absolutely fell in love with the form and decided to get certified so I had the opportunity to keep up with it as much as possible. I completely reshaped my body with the exercise and lost a total of 90 pounds. Now that I am certified in Pilates I now help people who want to achieve similar goals. I started training one on one sessions in a full equipment Pilates gym at Chi Balance Center where I was certified then moved on to the Newtown Athletic Club where I teach in more of a group fitness environment. There are about 12 mats in the room along with 10 reformers. I enjoy the atmosphere very much and my students feel very comfortable with me because I am very lively and fun during the workout, but they also know that I genuinely care very much about their well being and progression in their Pilates practice.
