Suzanne Brown

I have always been an active person but I would say my life of fitness began when I started college. My friend and I decided that we couldn’t afford to gain the “freshman 15” so we started walking between classes and changed our eating habits to much healthier foods. Then we began to take aerobics classes and joined a local gym. I graduated 10 pounds lighter than when I started! After college, I took a job working on a cruise boat and was able to still work out and maintain my weight (even though it was hard with all the yummy food the boat had to offer)! In 2001, I moved to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina and began working at Marriott Vacation Club as the Activities Manager. Part of my job responsibilities was to teach water and low impact aerobics. I enjoyed the aerobics so much that when I saw Hilton Head Health hiring for instructors, I put in my application. I have been there four years now. I love teaching and helping people change their lifestyle for the better. I have gotten in the best shape that I have ever been in and have done ½ marathons and biathlons.
