I have been trained in Classical Ballet for 30 years, and Jazz for 15. Training has mostly been in the Cleveland area, although I lived in Las Vegas, Nevada for a year and I have also taken dance in New York City. I have been active in step and hi/lo aerobics for 20 years. Other favorite activities include: Downhill skiing; water-skiing; bicycling; hiking; golfing; horseback-riding. I have subbed for ballet classes in the past. I have a degree in Occupational Therapy, and work full-time as an Office Assistant/Receptionist in a legal office in Cleveland, Ohio; thus, my knowledge of human anatomy, group leadership skills and being classically trained have all meshed into my becoming a diversified Group Exercise Instructor.
Group exercise instructor at RedFitness (fka Bally's) since 6/1/04; I have instructed/independently choreographed the following classes: (1) Double step (2) Hi/Low/Kickboxing (3) Step (4) Step & Sculpt (with hand weights) (5) Powerflex (Weight-lifting with a bar) (6) *Yoga-Pilates-Abs
I incorporate some kickboxing, stability ball, and yoga into my classes for an eclectic, but whole body workout. I emphasize a lot of stretching in my classes due to my strong background in dance. Experience includes subbing for various instructors.
*I draw from my 30 years of jazz and ballet experience, incorporating Hatha yoga, pilates, jazz and ballet -- a mind/body class focused on working posture, abs/back ("core", or "center" for dancers), flexibility.
