- Diane Rogers
Diane Lim Rogers lives, works, and plays in the Washington, DC area. She teaches yoga at Body Grace studio in Vienna, VA. Diane views yoga as a late-found treasure in her life and something meant to be shared. She discovered yoga only after turning 40, but her yoga practice quickly began to take over most of her own fitness routine as well as her general outlook on life, and she decided to become a teacher so she could share it. She is an RYT-200 with Yoga Alliance, having completed her 200 hours of teacher training through the Yogafit school, which emphasizes a safe and nurturing yoga practice accessible to all levels of fitness and experience. Besides the steady education Diane receives on a daily basis from working with her fellow local yoga teachers, she has taken classes and workshops with many great yoga masters. She has been most profoundly influenced by the wisdom of Donna Farhi (of New Zealand) and Erich Schiffmann (of Venice, CA), although she has never had the pleasure of studying with them in their respective hometown studios! (Someday!)
Diane teaches in her own "slow flowing" (vinyasa) style that integrates elements of Ashtanga and Iyengar yoga. This style takes the best from the various influences to promote core strength, muscular toning, flexibility, balance, and grace. She also incorporates "restorative yoga" postures and breathwork into her personal and class practices.
In her "other life," Diane is a Ph.D. economist who works for a nonprofit dedicated to fiscal responsibility and is the mother of four children who are growing up very fast!
