Karl starting playing tennis in 1977 competitively and won 12 City and County Open Singles, Doubles and Mixed doubles championship titles by 1986. Produced 3 professional (2 ATP) players and 1 State Champion teaching professional. Karl has attended USPTA/RSPA conferences since 1997 and has assisted and appeared in 2 USTPA Drills Drills Drills DVD's. Winner of two USPTA California Division Seminar Contests including one drill. He has spoken at 2 USPTA World Conventions. He received a USPTA National award for accumulating the second highest level of educational points for over 10 years. He has played in numerous USTA Southern California Division (2 championship) teams. Was on the USPTA/RSPA Southern California Board as President District One, past USPTA/RSPA Teasurer and Secretary for the of So Cal Division 2009 - 2025. Currently 2023-2024 he is back on the Board as District 1 President. He was awarded USTPA 2022 District Pro of the Year. He also was awarded the same Pro of the year in 2010 and 2022. He was ranked #7 in the Nation of USPTA Pros in singles in 2012 in the 50 and Over Division. Karl specializes in Group Clinics doing Drills, Skills, Thrills and live ball competition with lots of energy and fun. He has extensive experience teaching and training in Cardio and Mental Toughness subjects. Karl always brings his transition balls when he coaches at Family Resorts for the kids. Karl and his wife have been the Husband / Wife Mixed Doubles Open title at our Tennis Club for 3 years. Karl introduced PickleBall at my club in 2018 and have run clinics and tournaments for both PickleBall and Tennis. Karl has a professional certification in Pickleball and Tennis by the United States Professional Association (USPTA/RSPA) and the USTA. Note: on Sept 16, 2024, The USPTA has rebranded itself to RSPA (Racket Sports Professional Association) and is ongoing advertising this monumental change.
