Maggie Pelton

Maggie grew up in the New Jersey Ballet Company. She has trained at the Martha Graham and Jose Limon schools in New York City. After graduating with a BFA in dance from the Juilliard School, she toured internationally with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. While dancing in commercials, music videos and industrials in southern California she began teaching ballet, jazz and modern dance in studios nationwide. After moving to Nashville, TN with her All American decathlete husband, Dave, Maggie has taught at several studios in town including the Nashville Ballet. Maggie just celebrated her 11th year with Cookeville Leisure Services where she helped develop a dance program and now teaches at the local YMCA where her three young children can be lovingly cared for and has students ranging in age from 3-93. She is a certified Zumba, PiYo, and Silver Sneakers instructor and continues to travel and freelance as a guest artist and choreographer.
