My name is Claudia Renkwitz. I am a 44 year old fitness instructor born in Veracruz, Mexico. At the age of sixteen I joined the Canadian Armed Forces HMCS Hunter Naval Reserve, where I was awarded for being the youngest member ever to join the force and where I developed a great interest in sports and fitness. Shortly after leaving the Armed Forces I enrolled in various fitness programs and started boxing as a hobby. I began training for competitions in the summer of 1997 and after seven months of hard training I became the 1997 Ontario Novice Champion. Some of my accomplishments are: 1998/1999/2000/2002 & 2004 Ontario Gold Medallist 2001, 2002 & 2004 – Canadian Silver Medallist Ranked No 2 in all Canada 2003 Gold Medallist at “International Battle at the Border†USA vs Canada I love to use my boxing achievements to promote fitness programs intended to improve physical and mental health as well as encourage positive relationships with others. I’m currently developing various fitness programs ranging from club activities, after-school fitness and safety programs, boot camps, running clinics and educational workshops. In addition to my fitness classes at the current health fitness center where I’ve been employed for over 10 years, I also coach at the Windsor Amateur Boxing club. I receive great satisfaction from helping others to improve their lifestyles and inspiring people to live life to the fullest through healthy lifestyle choices. I’m also the founder and coordinator of the Greater Windsor Sports Corporation, a non-profit organization that helps youths to enhance their well being through sports, wellness and educational activities. I hope to be a positive role model for the youth community.
