Alina Ackenbom

I am 34 year old, married, have two children. I have been playing tennis since the age of 7. Between the ages of 9 and 18 I was a top ranked junior in Russia competing in multiple regional, national and international tournaments. I went to University of Ufa, Russia where I received Teachers Degree in English and German. After graduating from University I chose to start coaching tennis and worked in one of the top junior tennis schools in Russia for 4 years. In 1997-99 I worked as summer tennis specialist for Camp Friendship in Virginia where I obtained my H1B working visa and became full year round staff. I am a permanent resident of USA now, a " green card holder" I received my USPTA certification in 2000 where I passed my teaching part of test with 100 %. My coaching experience includes working with junior, ages 5-16, adults and seniors. I have worked with High School students, beginners and ranked players. I have plenty of experience of working with goups as well as private or semi-private setting. I am a very friendly, intelligent and social individual. My goal is to bring out the best in every student and have them achieve their potential while having fun in the process. I am a huge supporter of growing tennis worldwide. I do my own stringing and have a wide knowledge in multiple areas of the sport of tennis, including equipment, apparel, etc. I subscribe to all the tennis magazines available and stay tuned to all the news in the field. I regularly participate in tennis conferences and workshops. I have a large collection of books and videos at my office to keep myself knowledgable about coaching tennis.
