John Spears

John Spears and his wife, Tina live on a family farm in Westerly, Rhode Island. They both are very involved in the sports of tennis and platform tennis. They have participated in visiting pro programs in the Caribbean since 1990. John is from Texas, where he played college tennis. He was a leutenant in the U S Navy from 1966 - 1970 and was the athletic officer at Naval officer candidate school in Newport, RI. John remained in Rhode Island and taught mathematics in the public school until 1990. Since 1990, he has been a tennis coach at the high school and uneversity level.
