I’m have been an Orangetheory Fitness Head Coach and Coach for the past six years.
Formerly, I co-owned my very own fitness studio, called Level 5. We offered fitness by the class as well as personal training. We were a unique in that few facilities operated on the basis of no contracts, and only classes. However this worked out very well for us and became a model for most boutique studios. Prior to this I managed two of the largest group exercise departments for the Rush Fitness Complex.
Currently AFAA group fitness certified.
Previously certified through several organizations. I received my personal training credentials through AFAA (Aerobics and Fitness Association of America). My group fitness certification is with IFTA (Interactive Fitness Trainers of America) as is my Mat Pilates certification. I am also certified to teach spin and group x through Fitour. I have also received certifications from Body Training Systems in Power, Step and Ride. I am also certified to teach Zumba, but don't! Prior to my positions as co-owner of Level 5 and manager at the Rush, I taught at various area clubs and private facilities. My specialties are hi-lo aerobics, kickboxing, latin step, any kind of muscle or strength class, creative boot camps, interval training, spin, water, and at times core or pilates. I have also worked with pregnant women in the Fit for Two program at Greensboro's Women's Hospital. If you can't find me doing any of those gigs, I will most likely be working with my personal training clients. For several summers, I have run a teen fitness program at a sleep away camp in Northern Georgia. In my spare time, I write health-related articles for hospital websites around the nation and a company called Stayinginshape.com. I exercise as much as I can and it gives me the energy to care for my two teenage children.
