Michael Getoff

While growing up in NYC, I was alway interested in fitness. My childhood included the study of Goju and Shodokan Karate. As I progressed, Kung Fu became a passion. I studied Shalion and Wing Tsun for a total of 12 years in Chinatown, New York. My education included graduating from Stuyvesant High School, and a year of Antioch College. After spending a year in class, I realized I did not enjoy the formality of college classes, and that I wanted to learn about the world by seeing it. I traveled the United States, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Europe working as a photographer. After four years, I settled back in New York. I worked as a salesman in the photo industry, where I was quickly promoted to manager. Next, I opened my own company, ROYC Furniture. When the dot com boom came, I became Monster.coms largest vendor for furniture. At 46, I retired to Florida to follow my passion, fitness. Since moving, I have taken numerous CEC's, and obtained an ACE, Wits, and Les Mills Body Pump certifications. I have also signed up to obtain a Yoga certification in June. Furthermore, I am an avid cyclist; and I just completed my first century ride. I have been married to the same woman for 25 years, and she puts up with my passion for fitness. I also have a beautiful daughter who will be graduating from the University of Florida with a building construction degree. She also shares my fervor for fitness.
