Professional Profile I am originally from Bridgeport, Connecticut and moved to Jacksonville, Florida ten years ago in search of a better career in the health and fitness field, as well as some Florida sunshine. Athletics and competition have been an important part of my life since the age of two. My parents got tired of chasing me around so they enrolled me into gymnastics. My gymnastics career went on to a competitive level in the United States Gymnastics Federation for 14 years. My years of conditioning, hard work, and dedication in gymnastics created a foundation, which directed me into a life of sports and fitness. Throughout high school I was involved in Varsity softball, basketball, volleyball, and cheerleading. I became a role model for females throughout my high school years. I was the first female to graduate from a non-traditional trade, Carpentry. I was honored as a high school athlete, winning the Tiger’s Bowl. Academic were just as important as my sports. I made it into the “Who’s Who among American High School Students,†as well as “Who’s who Among Athletes.†UNICO, an Italian Catholic Organization awarded me a monetary award for excellence in academics. Upon graduating high school, I attended Mitchell College in New London, Connecticut on a softball scholarship. There, I received my degree in Health and Fitness. I completed my internship with two fitness centers in the Connecticut area. I participated in NJCAA Varsity softball and soccer. Upon graduating from Mitchell College, I was awarded the Health and Fitness Award for outstanding efforts toward the health and fitness field as well as having the highest GPA for that major. Throughout my gymnastics career I earned many medals, ribbons, and trophies, but nothing can be more rewarding than the self-discipline, confidence, and experience I adopted to account for the healthy lifestyle I possess today. I have been working in the health and fitness industry as a Certified Personal Trainer for the last 11 years. I am continually trying to expand my knowledge and stay on the cutting edge of the ever so changing health and fitness field. My certifications include: ACE Personal Trainer, AFAA Personal Trainer, YMCA Strength Instructor, P.A.C.E. Arthritis Instructor, USA Gymnastics Safety Certified Coach, Reebok Power walk Instructor, ISCA Master Trainer as well as CPR and First Aid & Safety through the American Heart Association. After working in several area fitness centers and rehab facilities, I realized that the value of service was being compromised. With that in mind, I started Personal Best Fitness Service. With the reputation and integrity I developed through my company, Gold’s Gym hired me to develop their fitness program as well as managed the service department. The fitness program is still being implemented successfully today. Due to more opportunities and expansion, I have moved from Gold’s Gym to a personal training facility, Gracor Fitness. Health and Fitness is not only a job for me, it’s a way of life. Being a competitive athlete for so long, I was looking for another avenue, as I got older. I was attracted to the obstacle course competitions after experiencing the politics in the fitness competitions. The obstacle course competitions are definitely the direction that I’m headed for in the future. After attending the first Fit camp with the Health quest staff, I was hooked. With my training, coaching, athletic experience, and education, I feel that I can be an asset to the Fit Bodies staff. I am a highly motivating individual that can fire up any individual and help them achieve their “Personal Best†Yours in great health, Stacie Migliore
