Anthony Garcia

I took to a daily practice in the spring of 2002.

After mentioning to a co-worker how great my back felt as a result of my yoga practice, she asked if I'd consider leading a class. In 2003 I began sharing what I had studied: basic sun salutations, and standing postures. As word spread others began to come and ask if they could join. Working in a physically demanding envirnoment, many co-workers have had our share of injuries. Classes grew and I began to feel more and more responsible for their safety, so when asked about a particular injury I'd have them practice with caution, and study up  on ways to modify their practice to best suit them.

In 2006 I began studying with the brilliant Karl Erb, and soon after one of my primary teacher's Marcèe Cretarolo joined me in teaching. Still craving a deeper understanding of my body and the practice of yoga I began sampling various teachers and styles primarily in San Francisco - Les Leventhal, Dina Amsterdam, Wendy Yalom, and Wendy Faith are among my favorites. As a recent graduate of the Yoga Tree of San Francisco Teacher Training Program, and certified by the Yoga Alliance, my practice continues to develop through self-study, awareness, and a love of sharing yoga as a gift to reduce suffering.

My vision for students is to fully support, invite, encourage, and challenge each of them to reach beyond many self-imposed limitations and dramas we tell ourselves.
My practice is based in love, to share this amazing gift of yoga with those who are on the same path, to reduce stress, build strength and walk in harmony among those we share the world with, one breath at a time.
