Heather Elson has been teaching in various capacities for more than sixteen years, but began teaching yoga to children in 2005. What opened up from there has led her to discover that her bliss is, indeed, teaching kids yoga, and she began to deepen her own yoga practice, which began in 2002.
Heather has continued to specialize in kid’s yoga, with Maalaa from the Yoga Tree, Vancouver, to Marsha Wenig at the Toronto Yoga Conference. For adults, Heather studied at Downward Dog under Diane Bruni and Ron Reid. She completed an advanced training in Restorative Yoga with Hali Schwartz, and continues to study traditional sanskrit chanting with Meenakshi of Swaha.
Currently, Heather is building a community-based yoga studio; Yoga Queen.
Heather's varying interests outside of yoga-land are writing, singing, cycling around Toronto and playing her shruti box. She's also learning to play the guitar, and belly dance!
