Biography
Until I turned 30, I was athletic and slim, but then my metabolism changed and I packed on the pounds.
At 41, I decided to take control of my life so I joined a gym . My goal was to get back in shape before I turned 42. But I was still skeptical. I'd tried every diet under the sun and had failed at every one. I had gone to the doctor and even had my thyroid checked. It was fine. I told my best friend that it was impossible for me to lose weight.
So I decided to hire a personal trainer. He quickly saw right through me — he could tell that I didn't believe I could do it. He taught me that there was no quick solution, only diligence and time. He never accepted less than 100 percent, and he pushed me to do things I would never have done on my own.
We focused on setting goals and using a journal to keep myself accountable. He gave me assignments to do during the week on my own. He was very aware of my physical limitations (like bad knees) and made sure that I didn't perform any exercise or routine that would hurt me.
By my birthday, I had lost over 40 pounds and 20 inches. I went from a size 12 to a size 4. We now set different goals such as body building competitions. There is very little I am too afraid to try. Clay is truly awesome and I wouldn't have achieved what I have without him.
I was so impressed that I changed my body with the help of a trainer, I decided to become one myself and help others believe in themselves and reach their fitness goals.
