As a personal trainer I have been working in health clubs specializing in rehabilitation, youth and sport specific programs. In 2000 I started my own company to offer in-home personal training services. In 2004 I added massage therapy to my skill set to offer my clients more health services. I have also taught group classes in circuit training, power stretching and body sculpting.
I am also very involved in the sports community as a coach, administrator and player. I am the head coach of a regional U17 volleyball team. In the past I have also coached at the high school volleyball level for 11 years in all age categories for boys and girls. As an administrator I am the president of the Pierrefonds Men’s Volleyball Association, a municipal recreational league. I also sit on the Board of Directors for the Lac St. Louis Sports Commission.
As teacher I realize there are various ways in which students learn and it is my job to facilitate their learning to reach the desired educational goal. In physical education students must ultimately participate in the activity to learn and enjoy it, but making them aware of the theory behind the movement could also prove beneficial. A healthy body can only exist in combination with a healthy mind.
