Bio of Catherine L. Brown.

 

Catherine L. Brown is a well-recognized expert in fitness and wellness throughout the Baltimore metropolitan area. With over 14 years in the industry, and 18 years G.B.M.C. medical staff. Catherine’s ascension into the fitness arena is impressive. Her instruction acumen started at Bally’s Total Fitness where her concentration in Jump Rope Technique, Aerobics Instruction, Kick Boxing, Bosu, Pilates, Spin and Physio-Ball, gained her facility and community-wide respect for her successes in helping clients achieve difficult fitness goals. At Bally’s, Catherine was known for her ability to motivate and instill drive and commitment with staff and clients longing to substantially improve.

 

In 2001, Catherine was recognized as “Personal Trainer Director of the Year” and “Fitness Director of the Year,” and after 7 prosperous years, she drew on her training expertise and ventured out as a freelance trainer. Catherine’s personalized training offers motivational seminars, boot camps and individualized fitness, and nutrition instruction to people of all ages, particularly women challenged by self-esteem issues sparked by weight gain. Her reputation in helping clients slim down and build muscle tone, led her to open her own personalized fitness center. Physique, By Fit Lady has drawn clients from every corridor across Baltimore and Howard County with it’s 30-Minute Fitness Bootcamp. The boot camp offers an 12 week indoor and outdoor environmental training sessions for 30-45 minutes of boxing, drills, calisthenics, rope jumping, jogging, power walking, trail ventures and weight training, nutrition and life style changes workshops.

 

Catherine’s professional training speaks volumes to her commitment to her clients to ensure not only is she providing fitness, and nutrition training, but she has been educated with the proper tools to assist clients with fitness needs at various levels. Catherine is certified by the International Fitness Professional Association (IFPA) as a Certified Advance Sports Nutrition Specialist, Advanced Personal Fitness Trainer and Sports Nutrition Specialist. Through National Strength Professional Association (NSPA), she is Certified as a Conditioning Sports and Strength Trainer. Also, she is Certified as a Personal Fitness Chef and Running Coach with the National Exercise Sport Trainers Association (NESTA). Her medical experience came from 10 years at Greater Baltimore Medical Center in the Cardiac Step down unit and Cardiac Rehab. In her on going desire for education in the health and wellness arena she is seeking a certification as a Corporate Wellness Coach and continuing on her nutrition education. She is currently studying Dr. Jane Pentz nutrition program as well as seeking a Bachelors Of Science degree in nutrition.

 

Catherine has been involved in community service initiatives. At Florence Crittenton Girls Group Home, Pimlico Middle School, Woodlawn Middle School and City College,

she has worked with at-risk youth and women by developing customized fitness and wellness programs designed for educating students on nutrition and exercise routines. She has most recently developed a wellness program for incarcerated women at the Chrysalis House. She has hosted a health seminar a Sinai Hospital for pre and post Bariatric patience under Nancy Lum the Bariatric Nutritionist

 

Catherine continues to serve as a motivational speaker and passionate advocate for health and wellness. She is willingly devotes her time and energy to address many of the challenges of at risk youth, women self esteem issues, and poor eating habits by focusing on the importance of health an wellness in addition to physical appearance. She is committed to using her expertise and experience to help transform the community.
