My love of fitness began in dance class.  I performed on my high school and college dance teams, and took fitness classes such as Jazzercise and step aerobics.  In 1992, I graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in Psychology.  Having toyed with the idea of teaching fitness, a Director friend of mine trained me and I began teaching group fitness classes part-time in 1995.  My first classes were dance aerobics and choreographed step, which I still love to teach, but have expanded into Cycle, BODYPUMP, BODYSTEP, Stott Pilates Mat and Reformer, Water Exercise, Drums Alive and more.  I began personal training, obtaining my certification from NASM.  I have been with ACAC for over 10 years, and am currently the Director of Group Exercise and Personal Training.  My current certifications include Stott Pilates, AFAA, AEA, TRX, and NASM CPT.  I have also held certifications with Heart Zones Cycle, Reebok Cycle, IDEA KickBox.
