Lacey Outlaw

I went to my first indoor cycling class about three years ago to cross train, and fell in love. Eventually, I decided to get certified and teach for myself. I felt I had more than enough passion and creativity to bring to the table. I first took an AFAA's workshop in October 2008 that introduced me to teaching indoor cycling. I was hired at the club I was a member of to sub classes. I developed a group of followers and eventually got my own class.

In April 2009, I wanted to pick up classes at another gym. However, that gym was a Spinning facility, and I would have to be Spinning certified. I decided to do it, and Spinning has completely changed the way I think about and teach indoor cycling. I have since taken one workshop on Periodization, and am in the process of a home study involving Cadence, Heart Rate, and class Deisgn. I like to teach classes that involve the many aspects of Spinning: Endurance, Strenth, Intervals, and Race Day rides. I also like to incorporate Recovery Rides if I have a rider that pushed extra hard the day the before. Balance is key!

I teach 3 different classes at my club, where one is geared towards beginners, but can be efficient even for the most experienced riders. In all classes, I stress the importance of having a Heart Rate monitor - though it is not necessary to have to ride. I like to teach my classes about the most efficient ways to burn fat and be in the best shape of your life!
