I am 44 years old and a native of South Florida. My primary occupation is as an Assistant State Attorney for the State Attorney's Office in Fort Lauderdale. I have been an attorney and with this office for 17 years. I also teach part time at a local community college. I come from a family of yogis. My grandmother and her sisters practiced yoga in the New York area in the 1940's and 50's. My sister is currently a yoga teacher and fitness instructor in the New York area. I myself have been practicing yoga for approximately 15 years. In 2001, in an effort to deepen my own practice I took teacher training. I began teaching only to "fill in" and have been teaching regularly since. I strongly feel that "yoga" is much more than asana practice. Yogic and Vedantic philosophy and scripture are a large part of my personal practice.
