I grew up in the Chicago area taking various forms of dance which often incorporated fitness training as well as yoga and pilates into classes. As a teenager, I began student teaching ballet, jazz, and modern dance in addition to taking classes, so I have been quite comfortable leading groups in movement and exercise therapy for quite some time. I double-majored in college at Ball State University located in muncie, Indiana, and I completed my education with a B.A. in Dance and a B.S. in psychology with a minor in movement therapy. During college I, along some peers, created the yoga/pilates fushion class for dance majors. I also took an internship doing recreational therapy for children with special needs and physical disabilities in Sun valley, Idaho. Upon completing college, I spent a year in Nova Scotia, employed at Nubody's Fitness and taught many yoga and pilates classes a day; I also earned my certifications in, and begin leading group and individual fitness sessions through Nubody's. Throughout the past year, I spent six months in Chicago, Illinois as a freelance yoga instructor for individuals and various small yoga studios. I am currently residing once again in Muncie, Indiana, working on my Master's degree in psychology with a specialization in movement therapy and I am currently employed at the local YMCA as a yoga/pilates instructor and a personal trainor.
