Heather Diodati

As a ballroom/Latin dance competitor, Heather Diodati always had a passion for Latin music and dancing. Diodati and her ex-husband competed in Canadian and U.S. competitions for a number of years and ended their dance careers by offering free dance shows for local events. It was when Heather remarried and took dance lessons with her new husband that she further developed her passion for Latin dancing. Then, unfortunately, her new husband developed arthritis in his fingers and had difficulty turning her. Diodati tried to convince herself that she would not miss dancing but all the while it played on her mind especially when she would hear an exciting new song on the radio that could be used for a cha cha or a swing.

While researching online for items of interest to include in her ballroom dancing blog and ezine, Heather discovered the Zumba website and clicked on it. Immediately, exciting Latin tunes began playing as the site loaded and she was captivated. Delving more into the Zumba style of fitness she discovered that there was a class nearby and registered for the next class as soon as she could get into her car. The teacher, the music and the dancing was amazing and prompted Heather to register for her Zumba Fitness Certification, which took place in Ottawa. Heather’s husband always offers his wonderful support and brings some excellent ideas to the fitness class as well as his 'filming' expertise. Who knows – Heather may eventually convince him to join in on a class!
