- Renee DeTar
Renee began practicing yoga in 1973, to recover from injuries sustained in an accident. She has been teaching since 1990, and has extensive training in Iyengar and vinyasa yoga. She uses the alignment from Iyengar yoga to compliment the strength, flow, and philosophy of vinyasa yoga. In addition to being a certified yoga teacher, she is a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists and registered with Yoga Alliance at the E-500 RYT level to train yoga teachers. She founded the Institute of Interdisciplinary Yoga Studies in 2002 to train yoga teachers with the foundation of learning from many traditions. In 2004, she implemented this program at the Life Centre in London, England; now known online as the YogaCampus. Renee holds master’s degrees and has completed post-graduate work in Energy Medicine. Her education, training and life experiences come together to inspire her creative style of teaching. Renee believes yoga should be a joyful life practice on and off the mat. Her practice and her teaching have been a constant source of grounding for her through many life changes. She combines her warm sense of humor and playful style to create challenging yoga classes.
