Native of Los Angeles, I have always loved teaching, traveling, dancing, fitness, and interacting with diverse populations. This collections of interests led me to my undergraduate degree in English Education and my M.A. in Teaching English as a Second Language (Flagstaff, Arizona).
With those skills, I have taught ESL and composition at many institutions of higher learning including Azuza Pacific, Yavapai College, Denver University, Northeastern University and American Language Institute in Oporto, Portugal.
With an enthusiastic novice, my cousin, Scott, I opened a yoga studio in 2001 and introduced the city of Parker, Colorado to the practice of yoga.
Currently, I teach yoga in the evenings to beginner CU Boulder students, maintain my own practice at Core Power Yoga, and hold a full time position as academic adviser in Film Studies at CU Boulder. In addition to a regular yoga practice, I have also become an avid salsa dancer and continue to expand my expertise in this area as well.
