I was ranked #1 in Oklahoma, #1 in the six state Missouri Valley section, and was a top USTA nationally ranked junior tennis player. I was also a high school state champion in Oklahoma. I then went onto play college tennis at the University of Arkansas where I played #1 on the varsity tennis team, was All-Southeastern Conference, and ranked #35 in the nation in NCAA Division 1 Singles. In 2004, I led the University of Arkansas team to its first NCAA Sweet Sixteen since 1986. After graduating with a marketing degree from Arkansas, I played full time for two years on the ATP Professional tennis tour where I played tournaments around the world. I held ATP world rankings in singles and doubles for six consecutive years. I was ranked #65 in the USA in men’s pro tennis in 2006. I played Andy Roddick in an ATP tournament two years before he won the US Open and was ranked #1 in the world, and won the first set against him in that match. I have a win over Benjamin Becker in 2005 in an ATP tournament. Less than a year after our match, he put Andre Agassi into retirement at the 2006 US Open.
My parents have owned Totally Tennis, a tennis specialty store in Tulsa, Oklahoma for 34 years. It was voted the #2 tennis store in the USA by Tennis Industry Magazine. In June 2009 my father and I won the USTA National Senior Father and Son Tournament in California. The tournament included former French Open champion Michael Chang and his father.
I earned my MBA from Oklahoma State University in 2007. I have been teaching tennis lessons in Oklahoma for the past four years to beginning kids and adults, nationally ranked junior players, competitive seniors, and adults of all levels.
