I began my career as a fitness professional right after I graduated from the University of Toledo with a B.S. in Exercise Science in 1992. I started off as a personal trainer at a variety of gyms but found I was best suited as a group fitness instructor. I was a dance instructor for many years and I found teaching group fitness classes fulfilled me as both a dancer and as a choreographer. I left the fitness field for a few years when my children were young but got back into it when I discovered Zumba. Since Zumba is very dance-based, it really suits me. Somewhere along the line I discoverd yoga. With my high energy level, I didn't think I would enjoy yoga but I have found it is exactly what I need! After taking yoga classes for many years, I finally decided to take the plunge and become an instructor. Zumba and yoga couldn't be more different both I love teaching both! I currently teach 10 fitness classes a week (a few Zumba, a few yoga, and a few pilates). My employers, coworkers as well as class members would all agree that I have a very fun, outgoing personality and am able to tailor my class to meet the varying needs of the participants.
